Assistant Director

I was officially assigned the role about three days out from the first rehearsal. I had just begun taking his Directing class, so I followed the basic steps he had shared with us to get started and jumped right in. I immediately became a part of the design/production meetings to better understand the concept and begin throwing in suggestions. I had never expected my opinions in the rehearsal space and design meetings to hold so much weight as a beginner director. I quickly caught onto the habits and language usage John used and felt I easily fit into the role of an assistant. Being an experienced designer, I was able to better communicate with the design and stage management teams what was needed in order to make this show come to life. It was an incredible experience to learn how that aspect of theatre worked and left me wanting more. While I have had little experience, I am very excited to have more opportunities to explore this new found love for directing.
