Costume Designer. Makeup Artist. Director. Photographer.
In my junior year of high school, I transferred schools in hopes of a fresh start. I recognized a need for change as I was just barely scraping by in school. In this transition to getting myself back on track—I found theatre. I found myself in a friend group of theatre kids who encouraged me to audition for a community theatre. While I was loving being in rehearsal; I had a hard time letting go of some parts of me in this transition. I had played soccer my whole life and wanted to continue that. About halfway through the season though, I received a concussion that kept me out of school for weeks. At this time, I decided that was it for me on the field. I could not risk another head injury if I wanted to succeed as a student. I began investing all of my time into productions instead and started taking a fashion design class. When it came to deciding what I wanted to go to college for I couldn't think of anything I'd want to do more than theatre and fashion, luckily, costume design combines the two. While I came into college set on being a costume designer; I just recently discovered I have more than one interest in the theatre world. Needless to say, I am excited about where this discovery will take me as a storyteller.
