Maddie discovered her affinity for theatre when she switched high schools her junior year. At the start of this transition, she received a concussion playing soccer that ended her time on the field for good. She began acting in the school plays and taking a fashion design class, which ultimately made her decide to go to school for costume design. After a few years of designing shows in college (Coastal Carolina University), she rediscovered an interest in acting and a new liking for directing. Directing soon became a priority as she attended the National Theater Institute as a Theatermaker in the directing track (2020). Maddie is now participating in the start-up of a company for the recent Theatermakers class; as well as working on a short film she conceived with a fellow NTI student.
